Getting Ready

April 24, 2012

Hello interwebs! April has been a busy one, spinning all the plates - dropping a few, learning to unicycle and make omelets all at the same time. Knee deep in writing songs for my new album based on my experience on the Run Across Palestine. Thanks to ISLAND, I'll be inhabiting a lovely house in Michigan's beautiful northcountry next week to focus on writing and making demos for the record. I'll be recording mid-June at Ann Arbors Big Sky Recording studio with an incredible group of people. Mike Lynch, Geoff Lewis, Laura Bates and Jen Sygit to name a few. I feel grateful to be surrounded by such talent! Expect some demos up online within the next few weeks and an album release tour in the Fall. Gearing up for the Summer! A busy schedule playing solo, with the band, with Steppin' In It and Seth Bernard & May Erlewine. My wife Ann and daughter Tahlia are superb rollerskaters and have been urging me to dust off my old set of skates and get back on the floor... we'll see.

Also: Here's to Levon Helm. A huge inspiration and incredible musician. So glad I got the chance to see him play before he passed.
